Rise Fellow 2023

Vakula, an aspiring social entrepreneur and animator, is passionate about agriculture. She envisions a world where sustainable farming practices prevail, and farmers receive fair compensation for their labor. Her most notable accomplishment is the creation of a four-acre natural farm, achieved over eight years, which now yields crops comparable to those of chemical-based farms in her vicinity. For her Rise project, Vakula focused on addressing the issue of chemical-intensive agriculture by identifying sustainable farming methods viable for adoption by small-scale farmers on a larger scale. Alongside her entrepreneurial aspirations, she aims to contribute to a new wave of animation deeply rooted in Indian culture.
