Rise Global Winner 2021

Joseph is passionate about promoting educational access and aspiration in underserved communities. He has previously worked in the City Youth Forum, Equality and Rights Advocates, and as the Deputy Head Boy of his secondary school to improve and encourage student representation. For his Rise project, he worked on promoting academic Olympiad competitions throughout English state secondary schools after discovering that state school entrants attained as highly as their privately-educated counterparts in these competitions but were severely underrepresented. Joseph is also a member of the Study of Exceptional Talent program at Johns Hopkins’ Center for Talented Youth.
