Rise Fellow 2024

Walusungu is a dedicated environmental advocate from Zambia. Driven by his belief in grassroots change, for his Rise project he founded the Climate Action Club to educate and empower students to take action against climate change. His initiative, Skulu na Manja Pamodzi, has successfully brought together schools and community organizations to promote environmental sustainability and inclusivity. Through his tireless efforts, Walusungu has made a significant impact on his community, inspiring others to join the fight for a greener future. Following his learnings from his Rise project, he hopes to become a waste management entrepreneur to expand and create a market for recycled products in his country, as well as study international law.
