Rise Fellow 2022

Diverse in his interests, Velislav is a Bulgarian student who aspires to unite his skills and passions to help those whose voices have been silenced in the fight against social and economic discrimination. As a scholarship recipient, he has had the privilege of studying in Bulgaria’s most prestigious private high school and understands that the most important way to tackle poverty and inequality is through education. His Rise project involved creating an organization that connects students in need of technology during distance learning with technician volunteers and computer donors. His dream is to further develop the project, study abroad, and break all status-quos and stereotypes about the poor.
