Rise Fellow 2023

Vansh is an intellectually curious changemaker from Kenya. He utilizes data science to support the clinical diagnosis of health diseases in under-resourced communities. He values equity, inclusion, and social impact and aspires to help people in his country. His most outstanding achievement is partnering with Lions Club and Al Jaber Optical to test 63,000 under-resourced children in rural areas of Kenya and provide 500 free tailor-made lenses. For his Rise project, Vansh evaluated a machine learning model that can predict the likelihood of a person developing diabetes. He enjoys participating in international debating competitions and playing the drums with his band in his free time.
