Safiya is a Syrian-American programmer and scientist dedicated to improving global medical access. Safiya has worked on numerous medical-related research projects and has published research in the field. Her Rise project focused on developing an algorithm to automate data analysis of breath profiles for disease detection. Using breath profiles can enable rapid detection of numerous diseases via a handheld device, allowing for greater access to medical care across the globe. Safiya is a two-time Regeneron ISEF Finalist, three-time National JSHS Finalist, and a lifetime AJAS fellow.
