Rise Fellow 2021

Luyanda believes climate change poses an enormous threat and hopes to promote a cleaner environment, especially through organic farming. For her Rise project, she created an organic plant booster to promote healthy and sustainable plants without the chemicals, toxins, and pollutants found in traditional fertilizer. By growing plants organically, Luyanda’s project helps to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, therefore ultimately curbing climate change. Luyanda is a top student in her country and hopes to become an agricultural scientist.
