2021 fellow
Junior John Njende
Cameroon
Dyslexic as a child, John received help early as part of the first class of Central Africa’s first Montessori School. Since then, he felt inspired to help all African children get the education they deserve. He has worked with Edumail, an NGO providing educational materials to war-affected regions in Cameroon, and published a research paper about educational satisfaction with mathematics teaching methods. For his Rise project, he created the prototype of an app that would make sex education accessible to more young people.
