Rise Global Winner 2024

Annete is an advocate for women's empowerment and period equity from Kenya. Having been raised in a community with retrogressive cultural beliefs, for her Rise project, Annete co-founded the She-kilia Dada organization, a youth-led initiative that advocates for open conversations on reproductive health, period equity, and community-driven movements that empower women. Annete plans to study computer science, particularly due to female under-representation in the field, and hopes to be a role model and mentor for other girls who want to work in tech.
