Rise Fellow 2021

A passionate activist from Zambia, Yande has worked tirelessly on various projects promoting women’s rights and education. She is the youngest member of the Adolescent Girls’ Advisory Council under the Global Fund for Women, a member of the UN Women's Global Youth Task Force and the founder of the Africa Girls Think Tank. For her Rise project, Yande worked to address unequal access to education and to improve the education system for girls as a co-chair of Transform Education, a youth-led coalition hosted by the UN Girls’ Education initiative.
