Rise Global Winner 2024

Millena is a Brazilian scientist and the youngest member of the 'Forbes 30 Under 30' (Science & Education). Determined to bridge social and geographical gaps, she created Prep Olimpiadas to prepare rural students for science Olympiads. Her Rise Project, OBAFRO, is an Olympiad open to all ages that promotes racial awareness in Brazil. Millena has won 38 awards in Science Olympiads and qualified for the International Olympiad (IOAI) in Bulgaria. She plans to pursue engineering to develop breakthroughs for low-cost diagnostics for neurodegenerative problems. Currently, she is working on Autinosis, a platform that provides the first step in the screening process and helps families who would not otherwise have access to it. In the future, she hopes to implement low-cost diagnostic tools in the Brazilian Public Healthcare System.
