Rise Fellow 2021

Growing up in a conflict zone in South Sudan, Kuir lost his mother at the age of 4. He wants to be a peacemaker and is already living his ambition. Kuir created the Community Peace Initiative, an NGO that helps people in need and creates opportunities for youth in his community. The initiative has three major activities: debate and writing, community workshops and radio talk shows. Kuir’s achievements earned him the World Scholar’s Cup in South Sudan, qualifying him for the global round in South Africa.
