Rise Global Winner 2021

Ester’s parents told her she could not continue her education because she was “just a woman” and they could not afford it. She persevered and won a scholarship to study beyond elementary school, where she grew passionate about human rights and gender equality. For her Rise project, Ester developed a program to help young women learn about opportunities available to them and discover their voices. In 2019, Ester was chosen to represent her school in the global Zayed Sustainability Prize in Abu Dhabi.
