As a Peruvian woman with an indigenous background, Daira founded a bilingual non-profit organization aimed at fostering empathy and acknowledging cultural diversity. Daira aspires to create positive change in the Peruvian education system and beyond. Born in a poor region with a high illiteracy rate, Daira decided to become an education activist at age 12 when she saw how indigenous people - especially women - didn’t have access to education. She became involved with youth-led organizations and led pro-bilingual education campaigns.
