Rise Global Winner 2022

Sarvenaz is an Iranian activist and a student at UWC in Mostar. She believes that one’s background should not define their future and has actively engaged in her community to tackle the lack of social mobility. For her Rise project, Sarvenaz created an NGO called “Break the Barriers,” providing free tutoring to children to improve access to English learning opportunities in her city, Tehran. She is also passionate about politics and leads her school’s Model UN team. As a Global Citizen Year alumna and an aspiring lawyer, she hopes to address the political injustice in today’s society and to accurately present those who do not have fair representation.
