Rise Global Winner 2022

Marrieta Halima is a Kenyan girl with a passion for science and innovations and solving problems using scientific approaches. As she comes from a remote area where many can't access medical facilities, her interest is in the medical and health fields. With her rapidcovix breathalyzer Rise project, she hopes to provide testing to those in rural areas who can't afford the expensive costs of testing and detecting infectious diseases. To date, she has partnered with medical research institutes to develop working prototypes for rural hospitals. Marietta’s dream is to see her community and country people have universal health care.
