Growing up in rural Afghanistan, Irfan saw how poor education affected societies. Irfan started a tutoring center for young people in his community. After a month, he saw such high demand that he knew there was a strong desire for education in regions like his where access to education is lacking. Now a refugee living outside of Afghanistan, Irfan continues to support his students through online education when possible. He received a certificate of appreciation at Pen Path Civil Society for his activism.
