Abigail Maina
Kenya
Abigail is an altruist with an interest in human rights. After her family experienced economic downturns in Kenya, she became a small-scale farmer to supplement her family's food needs. In addition to her passion for addressing food insecurity, Abigail is an award-winning participant of the East African Model United Nations conference and was selected to participate in the Yale Young African Scholars program in 2023. For her Rise project, she used vegetable farming to provide a sustainable solution to the food insecurity issues faced by a local children’s home in her community.
